A candidate from London asked me what to do to get a job in the United States. Here was my response.
This was an old blog post about social networking fatigue...from 2007. Back then, new networks were popping up, and the few people involved started to get burnt out. Of course, today the numbers tell a different story, but I found this useful.
Social Networking was all the rage, for like what, 10 minutes?
These words are now forbidden. Those who place them on their resume will be quizzed as to why they are on your resume. It will not be a pleasant quiz.
This word means nothing. It's meant to imply that you have a lot of experience. You don't. You may have dabbled in many areas, but if you've dabbled in enough to have vast knowledge, you only touched the service. Do you really want to tell potential employers that your experience is deep?
