You must have great technical skills with web 2.0 CMS of uploading and changing pictures, articles and blogs. But, this is not just a technical position, you would also be using your business admin skills to write interesting blogs and be in contact with individuals to blog for us.

Mission Impossible I hear you say…..

Not really…. The National Skills Academy already has many projects happening throughout the year all of which will be attracting various levels of PR attention as well as a massive summer campaign. With 2.7 billion searches on Google each month, we need you to channel and manage just some of these to our site driving up our hits. We believe in aiming for the moon always.

Why have we come for you?
You would use your quirky writing style to appeal to our visitors, create and manage blogs that will ignite their imagination and get them hooked into hospitality. This is a chance for you to use your drive, energy, enthusiasm and commitment to make a real difference to our industry.

What would the perfect applicant be?
Ok nobody is perfect but just suppose you were. You would be a computer enthusiast with so much energy, enthusiasm and creative ideas that you wouldn’t be able to control yourself at work.

You would be our computer expert. Although we are amazing at what we do, computers would be your area! Therefore previous experience is essential to avoid a crash landing. Some key things that you must have:

• Experience and knowledge of the website development industry, with an understanding and appreciation of contemporary site development
• Knowledge of ‘viral’ campaigns and other site communication techniques
• Website management skills
• Written communication skills

Even if you have never worked in our industry you must also genuinely believe that hospitality is a great place to work.

Who is my manager?
You would report to the director of communications who would also give you advice and support about the content of the websites.

How long and how much?
This would be a full time role and salary is dependant on experience.

Where would I work?
We are a team of seven and all work from home. We all love it but you should think carefully about this before applying. Ask yourself “Could I really get out of bed and start working”? As for equipment, we would give you everything you need to complete your role, computer, phone etc. Hours are flexible, performance will be judged on your ability to deliver project deadlines.

What’s next?

If you think you have what it takes to become the Academies very own Mark Zuckerberg (Face book creator)! Send your CV, and online portfolio, if you have one, to gemma.watts@hospitalityskillsacademy.co.uk.
