Jobs in Social Media

a social media talent marketplace

Over the past 2 weeks, I have exchanged conversation with a local government agency on Facebook on how to engage the general public using social media. Everytime I get a telephone call of interest. I explain to them(ideas) on how social media can assist them with their daily activities. With these interactions, I am giving suggestions that are recieved well by the general public on Facebook and local social networking sites! Individuals at this large government entity still don't understand..As social media creators, critics, and participants, do you think we are dealing with a resistant senior management or this government agency is not interested in establishing Government 2.0? I think its a resistant senior management! Pleae give me your opinions!

Definitely sounds like resistant management and just general social media fear. People are intrigued by it, keep reading about how they SHOULD be using it, even probably ostensibly want to use it....but when you get right down to it, if these are brand new tools for them, I'm sure hearing specifics just freaks them out. I encounter this on the job all the time, unfortunately.
